Locate and furnish a dedicated space for department adjuncts to work and hold office hours/conferences with students.

Initiative TitleLocate and furnish a dedicated space for department adjuncts to work and hold office hours/conferences with students.
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Currently, unlike many other departments across campus, the English Department has no dedicated space for adjuncts.  As our number of adjuncts increases,   we often cannot accommodate their needs for workspace and/or conferencing.  Morrison Hall is locked after 6p.m. which means that evening adjuncts have no access to a copier or desks.  We do have 6 computers for their use, but  these are scattered throughout the department and often in office shared with a full-time instructor who has the only key.

We are asking for a space on campus which will give them the facility they need in order to serve students and work efficiently.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded
