Initiative Title | Middle States Self-Study & Community College FACULTY Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE) |
Submitted in Previous Year(s) | No |
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale | In preparation for the College's Middle States Self-Study 2013-2014, the College is to regularly collect feedback from faculty about their experiences.
The Community College Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE) was developed in order to assist community colleges to collect information from faculty about their "perceptions regarding students' educational experiences, their teaching practices, and the ways they spend their professional time—both in and out of the classroom."
The CCFSSE is offered as a companion to the CCSSE student survey, allowing the College to look at faculty and student responses. It is administered online to faculty and is offered at a flat rate ($). (Detailed information, including past survey instruments, administration process and example reports, is available at: http://www.ccsse.org/CCFSSE/CCFSSE.cfm) |
Consequences of this initiative not being funded | Not administering the CCFSSE may negatively impact the quality of the Self-Study since valuable information from faculty about their experiences and teaching practices may not be reflected in the report. The College will, consequently, develop and administer alternative assessments to obtain faculty feedback necessary for the development of the Self-Study. |
