The person in this position will work in a positive, personal, proactive, and non-threatening way to collect outstanding student accounts. We anticipate that a more personal interaction with the student will enhance the college collection efforts.
Consequences of this initiative not being funded	Bad debt expense will continue to increase and have a negative impact on the operating budget. There will also be a negative impact on college retention efforts.

The positive impact on the operating budget of the college is obvious. The person in this position will work in a positive, personal, proactive, and non-threatening way to collect outstanding student accounts. This will make the student’s experience here at OCCC a more favorable one, instead of having to deal with a collection agency.
