Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale	Student involvement at the Newburgh Campus is growing dramatically as enrollment steadily increases and campus facilities are expanded. At the same time, the demand for cultural affairs and student activities events is growing, and the eastern Orange County community increasingly turns to the Newburgh campus as a location for community events. Currently, the Newburgh Campus only houses one upright piano and an electronic keyboard, both of which are in use for music classes. The lack of a performance-level piano for the Great Room in Kaplan Hall seriously limits the nature and number of cultural and community events that can be offered to students and the larger community.
Consequences of this initiative not being funded	Limited artistic and cultural events at the Newburgh Campus, with less opportunity for cultural enrichment for the students in Newburgh.

STRATEGIC Priority I: Refine and strengthen the College’s Academic Master Plan. Implementation of the Academic Master Plan will be supported by a Facilities Plan, a Technology Plan, a Resource Development Plan and an Enrollment Management Plan.	The scope of academic enrichment activities would be greatly enhanced.
STRATEGIC Priority V: Expand and enhance programs, services and operations to ensure the College is accessible to all members of an increasingly diverse community.	This activity supports teaching and learning of fine and performing arts at the Newburgh Campus.
