Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale	Post-semester interventions – Students in Elementary Algebra (MAT 020) or Basic Writing Skills 2 (WRT 040) who have met the requirements of the course but barely missed meeting goals are given the opportunity to reach those goals in a 20-hour, two-week immersion experience that combines group and one-one-one instruction. At the end of the intervention, students are eligible to retake the final exam and those who pass do not have to repeat the course.
Consequences of this initiative not being funded	More students will have to repeat these courses.

Funding for all three Developmental Oversight Team initiatives, Developmental Learning Communities, Post-semester Interventions, and Pre-semester interventions, is currently being sought through a Title 3 grant. However, whether or not the grant proposal is funded, it is in the best interests of the college as a whole, and its under-prepared students in particular, to support these initiatives to the furthest extent possible.
