Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

OAS currently uses multiple home grown systems for case management of student files, application for Accessibility Services, receiving disability documentation, academic accommodation letter, and booking exam appointment.

OAS would like to purchase a Disability Services office program such as Accommodate or Clockwork which software houses all student information (application, documentation, meeting notes, testing appointment management) in one place.

Accommodate is used by many nearby SUNY schools use. SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Purchase, and UAlbany have this program.  Getting our students acquainted with the program in the first two years of their college experience can better serve our transfer students who have disabilities.

A designated disability program ensures web accessibility rather than home grown forms. It meets all ADA/508 compliance to be utilized by all students. It also offers greater security for confidential information.

Both programs (Accommodate and Clockwork) can be easily integrated with the College's single sign on feature. The software offers reporting features to collect data and additional methods to reach and communicate with students.
