Replace SmartBoard in Bio-Tech 251

Initiative TitleReplace SmartBoard in Bio-Tech 251
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

The SmartBoard in our classroom is over 10 years old.  (It was purchased when Nancy Carlson was Chair and held in storage for several years.)  It lacks many of the more user-friendly features that newer SmartBoards have, including  allowing for multiple people to interact with it simultaneously and access to updated Software like Smart lab, Smart amp and Smart response 2.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

Without an updated SmartBoard we can not model and teach our students how to use the instructional technology currently being used in the PreK-Grade 12 classrooms.  This lack of familiarity with this technology and knowledge of how to use it effectively will put them at a disadvantage when student-teaching, attaining a job, and performing their duties as teacher.

Department GoalsProvide our students with key resources necessary for their successful completion of our programs and in the workforce.
