Research and visit nearby exemplary Lab Schools

Initiative TitleResearch and visit nearby exemplary Lab Schools
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, RationaleCoincides with Master Plan to incorporate a lab school component in the Middletown Kindercollege facility, and on the Newburgh campus. Education students are without an essential, on-site tool for observation, participation beyond the current, informal usage at Kindercollege. Other departments could utilize this, OT, PT, and Psychology come to mind.
Consequences of this initiative not being fundedIncomplete connection of theory and practice for students. Loss of essential support "clinic/lab" for students. SUNY Orange less competitive for recruitment, retention. More dependence on local field sites, which can be undependable and inconsistent.
