Initiative Title | Research and visit nearby exemplary Lab Schools |
---|---|
Submitted in Previous Year(s) | No |
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale | Coincides with Master Plan to incorporate a lab school component in the Middletown Kindercollege facility, and on the Newburgh campus. Education students are without an essential, on-site tool for observation, participation beyond the current, informal usage at Kindercollege. Other departments could utilize this, OT, PT, and Psychology come to mind. |
Consequences of this initiative not being funded | Incomplete connection of theory and practice for students. Loss of essential support "clinic/lab" for students. SUNY Orange less competitive for recruitment, retention. More dependence on local field sites, which can be undependable and inconsistent. |
