Institutional Goals

Goal How will the initiative support this institutional goal?
An investigation of best practices in developmental reading and writing will result in a close evaluation of our current offerings and methods of course delivery
A change to a combined course should enable students to move more quickly through required developmental courses and allow them more selection in their semester schedules
Our Learning Communities have been successful, and this initiative/goal would be an adaptation of the way in which reading and writing are currently taught in them.
The success of the Learning Communities suggests a different delivery of developmental reading and writing courses and would allow these students more access to support services, both required and voluntary
