Seek appointment of a Mathematics Coordinator for Newburgh

Initiative TitleSeek appointment of a Mathematics Coordinator for Newburgh
Submitted in Previous Year(s)2011
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, RationaleAs Newburgh grows and a larger number of Mathematics courses and faculty are needed, the Mathematics Department will need to have a Coordinator to oversee all of the Mathematics operations. Newburgh faculty and adjuncts will need to be evaluated. Newburgh adjuncts will need to be hired and overseen. A Newburgh Mathematics schedule will have to be created each semester. In short there needs to be a coordinator to maintain standards and to insure that the Newburgh operation acts as flawlessly as the Middletown operation. The coordinator would be a full-time tenure track faculty member. He/she would get a one course abatement each semester
Consequences of this initiative not being fundedWithout a coordinator to oversee operations standards in the Middletown and Newburgh facilities may be different. Mathematics operations in Newburgh may not run as smoothly as they do in Middletown. Delivery of services might be different in the Middletown and Newburgh facilities
