Critical Information, Notes, Justification, RationaleAs the Newburgh campus grows the number of students using the Mathematics Resource Room will increase. The supervisor would train tutors, supervise the tutors, supervise the lab, form studegy groups and give review sessions. This would increase retention and ensure consistency of tutoring. This initiative would inpact all students at all levels of mathematics but would be especially helpful to developmental students who need extra encouragement to use the lab.
Consequences of this initiative not being fundedThe Mathematics Resource Room would continue to operate, which frankly is an effective operation. However I think the success and retention rate would be significantly improved with this addition.
