Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale	International study opportunities are essential for students in a Global Studies program. We plan to start with summer study abroad and, if successful, expand to a semester long program. We will utilize currrently existing international study programs to piggyback ours and give Orange students an opportunity to live, learn and master a language abroad.
Consequences of this initiative not being funded	Students will lack the culturally and educationally enriching experience of study and travel and intensive immersion in a foreign environment.

Goal	How will the initiative support this institutional goal?
COLLEGE I: To provide courses in the arts, sciences, health professions, humanities, business and technology at the level of Associate degree programs, certificates, training and developmental programs to meet student needs for further education, employment and personal growth. 2: To provide appropriate credit and non-credit programs to satisfy changing Orange County needs and demographics.
STRATEGIC V: Provide a clear, consistent and compelling presentation of Orange County Community College.
STRATEGIC I: Develop and implement an Academic Master Plan that guides the renewal of current programs and services, the development of new programs and services, and formulizes the allocation of resources effectively.
