Textbooks on reserve in library

Initiative TitleTextbooks on reserve in library
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Each semester a few of our students can not afford to buy textbooks for our classes.  We have tried to provide a copy of each of our textbooks on reserve at the library, however some publishing companies, will not provide us with a copy of the text which complies with the library rules for reserve copies. (For example, "instructor copies" may not be used.) So our only option is to purchase the textbook, which we can not afford to do with our allotted budgetary funds,

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

If this initiative is not funded, some students will not have a textbook which will likely result in poor or failing grade and could discourage them from completing the course or program.
