Transition to full-time clerical position

Initiative TitleTransition to full-time clerical position
Submitted in Previous Year(s)2016
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Currently, the honors program has a 19 hour a week clerical person.  This is inadequate to the needs in Middletown and does not support Newburgh at all.  The Middletown office needs to be staffed and facilities overseen for more hours per day, every day of the week, to assist students and faculty, answer questions, etc.

Additionally, there is no coverage for HAB meetings and other events beyond the current 19 hours per week scheduled.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

The honors office will be closed and lounge not supervised for 20+ hours per week.

Student workers cannot oversee adequately the areas nor should they be placed in that position.
