The First Year Support Team includes 4 adjunct faculty advisors, the Director of the Office of Career & Internship Services, a CTEA grant employee, and the Engagement Coordinator for Title III in addition to all the academic advising staff (6 professional advisors and 2 administrators).

Institutional Goals

Goal How will the initiative support this institutional goal?
The First Year Support Team works closely with first semester students as soon as they register for classes. Students are assigned to academic advisors in the team who follow up with students in a systematic approach throughout the semester. Advisors in the team work with students on academic planning, goal setting, and registration.
The First Year Support Team identifies itself as students' main point of contact upon attending the New START. Students know to contact the team on any aspect of college readiness from completing the steps in the registration process, college skills to discussing career options.
