Using borrowed or hand-me-down equipment during the 2019-20 academic year, the Communications staff has cobbled together video messages from the President, shout-outs from the President (recognizing successes at the College by students, faculty and staff) and other projects for website and social media usage. We have been limited in our ability to generate top-quality video for these purposes, and have been unable to generate additional video for student recruitment, retention, etc., because we don't have a lighting, lavalier microphones, and other production equipment.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

We are missing out on opportunities for creating additional, high-quality video content that can support student recruitment, employee highlights, College awareness and other marketing/communications initiatives. In today's media society, the ability to quickly generate in-house, quality video is vitally important, and the right equipment is the first step in meeting that need.

Acquiring quality video equipment for use by the Communications Office will allow us to capitalize further on initiatives we've already undertaken with borrowed equipment. We'll be better able to generate higher quality marketing materials and social media content to generate additional awareness about the College and to help attract prospective students to the College.
