Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale	To offer courses required in new Human Services Degree Program. Reduce ratio of full-time /part-time coverage of courses. Department currently has only one Sociology instructor for 12 course offerings; limited to only Intro and Social Problems.
Consequences of this initiative not being funded	Failure of new program, due to lack of offerings. Our course offerings would remain introductory only, needs of new satalite campus not met.

MIDDLESTATES Standard10: Faculty c: It is recommended that the college continue its efforts and then expand upon them to attract and retain underrepresented minorities. This may include, but is not limited to, identifying and encouraging Orange County Community College students to pursue higher education and return to Orange County Community College in staff, teaching and administrative roles.
STRATEGIC IV: Review and realign the missions, operations and staffing levels of all Orange County Community College departments in light of the strategic priorities.
