Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale	Vectra Genisys combination unit provides instructional tool to educate PTA students in multiple waveform electrotherapy, dual frequency ultrasound, EMG, combination electrotherapy, EMG activated stimulation, and can be combined with the Vectra Genisys Laser. Vectra Genisys Laser when purchased as specified will be able to provide educational opportunities for our students in three light treatment options (SLD, light therapy, and cold laser). Currently we do not maintain any equipment that can deliver this form of treatment/education. * In total it can provide 16 treatment/educational possibilities. * Additionally, this unit provides state of the art treatment options - on-board patient data management, operator remote controls, both anatomical and pathological libraries and comes complete with it's own system cart for portability. * This unit will allow for the replacement of older equipment as needed. * These devices will maintain our ability to compete with other colleges in our ability to offer up to the minute PTA educational opportunities.
Consequences of this initiative not being funded	Entry level students will not have previous experience with working with this type of equipment and therefore be less prepared for the clinical experience.

COLLEGE I: To provide courses in the arts, sciences, health professions, humanities, business and technology at the level of Associate degree programs, certificates, training and developmental programs to meet student needs for further education, employment and personal growth. 6: To assess classroom support and technology needs on a departmental basis and implement the necessary classroom upgrades in a coordinated manner.
MIDDLESTATES Standard13: Related Educational Activities a: Developmental student learning is very important for the success of under-prepared students. As the college does not utilize consistent, student-specific data on the progress of these students, appropriate resources should be made available to assist the Developmental Education Program in tracking the progress of students and assessing their success after completion of developmental courses. Adequate software, and qualified and sufficient staffing to effectively and efficiently utilize it, should be available to gather important data about the progress of students.
