The 2026–2027 academic year presents an opportunity for the Center for Student Success (CSS) to deepen and strengthen its impact by aligning our efforts with the College’s strategic priorities in student success, pathways development, institutional excellence, and the modernization of systems and spaces. As CSS continues to grow—integrating Tutoring, PROSPERAR Pathway Coaches, Career Services, and First-Year Experience (FYE)—our focus is on creating a seamless, coordinated, and inclusive network of support that empowers students from entry to completion.

CSS will prioritize enhancing academic readiness, improving access to student services, refining intervention processes, expanding career-connected learning, and strengthening cross-campus partnerships. Our work will intentionally advance the College’s goals by creating more equitable learning environments, aligning support services with both credit and non-credit pathways, and expanding collaborations that enrich the SUNY Orange experience for diverse student populations.

Guided by data, CSS will increase the use of early alerts, Success Plans, academic recovery supports, and technology-enabled communication tools that improve student outcomes while reducing administrative barriers. To support institutional excellence, CSS will invest in professional development for tutors, coaches, and staff, improving consistency in service delivery and fostering a positive, student-centered culture.

As facilities planning progresses and digital platforms evolve, CSS will also contribute to the modernization of campus spaces and systems by strengthening the infrastructure that supports tutoring, coaching, and career services, ensuring both Middletown and Newburgh campuses offer student-centered, technology-enhanced environments that promote learning and engagement.

CSS remains committed to advancing SUNY Orange’s mission through equity-focused, collaborative, innovative, and data-informed practices that cultivate student success and community connection.
