2019-2020 Admissions Review:
Our Admissions Team priority focus is to market, recruit and enroll students into SUNY Orange. During the 2019-2020 academic year, our Admissions team worked closely with constituents inside and outside of the college including Academic Affairs, Student Services and local guidance counselor community to help promote the benefits of a SUNY Orange education to the outside community. Our primary market includes high school students, transfers and adult students looking to continue or start their education. This past academic year saw some significant challenges that our department was able to overcome. With the current pandemic, our department was able to pivot from on-campus to virtual and did not skip a beat in providing services to our incoming and prospective students.
2021-2022 Admissions Plan
For the upcoming 2021-2022 Academic Year, we are going to focus on completing our implementation of our Customer Relationship Management System we purchased this past fall while integrating videos as way to help our students engage with our institution more. With the new strategic plan in place, our department will complete our goals and initiatives with the following strategic priorities and themes in mind:
Strategic Priority I – Empower Student Success - Equitably link students with their aspirations
Theme # 1: Provide support for the student of today and tomorrow.
Theme # 2: Intentionally and specifically support interested students to transition from non-credit to credit.
Theme # 4: Access Information about Career Choices & Potential Pathways
These priorities will continue to be a major influence as to how we will assist the institution in in meeting our enrollment numbers. Below is a list of initiatives we would to achieve this year:
- Built and utilize CRM product for Fall 2021 enrollment & beyond.
- Continue offering group visitation programs
- Continue to build Student Admission Ambassador Program.
- Research and review SUNY product - Docusign.
- Re-evaluate non-matric registration process.
- Create admissions instructional videos & Live-Chat.
We will also continue to build upon the following items in our admissions department:
- Look at our student communication and offering it in both English & Spanish.
- Continue to utilize our Career Advisor into our Admission related events and programming.
