As the College works on a Guided Pathways model, the English Department introduced and scaled up a co-requisite course offering Freshman English 1 with a co-requisite support module, making it possible for students who place in the higher range of development course offerings to work on necessary skills while at the same time earning credit for ENG 101. We will work on assessing the new course. The Department also intends to present a curriculum proposal for an Integrated Reading and Writing 1, 4-credit course, to accelerate progression through the lower levels of developmental course work.  This will involve increased technological support, continued communication/collaboration with other departments, and increased staffing.  Additional professional development will also be on-going as we work toward these goals.
