The English Department continues to work on a potential new course to accelerate progression through the lower levels of developmental course work, Integrated Reading and Writing 1, a 4-credit course.  This will involve increased technological support, continued communication/collaboration with other departments, and increased staffing. The committee's initial proposal needed some revisions and is being reworked at the moment. We're hoping to bring it to the Curriculum Committee in early spring for adoption next fall. As we are mostly back on campus, the Department would also like to explore funding opportunities to update the English-designated classrooms in Harriman Hall and for various Department activities. Additionally, now that we have lost the space of the Tech Writing Lab, we would like to explore how to keep that resource going forward. We would also like a few more computer carts. Finally, we would like to replace the copier in the Reading/Writing Lab.
