Summary

Financial aid over the last several years has moved in the direction of increasing customer service through technology in order to serve our new and current students. Assessments from the federal and state government have shown, student and parent awareness in the decision making progress on how to finance their education, is vital in helping students reach their educational goals. Over the past 3 years the primary goal of the financial aid office has been to educate students and families on their personal rights and responsibilities in regards to federal and state grant and loan opportunities. Education of students on consumerism, disclosures and government regulations pose the largest challenge in reaching our student body. We have moved the office in the direction of educating students that financial aid is a partnership between students, parents, SUNY Orange and the federal and state government to achieve affordability.
