The Registrar's Office is responsible for the majority of the data in the student portion of the college's student information system (Banner); maintains students’ records via the college's document imaging system; develops the academic master schedule; oversees transfer credit evaluations; responsible for determining applicability of credits registered for toward program for financial aid; distribute grades and processing of transcripts; graduation clearances; enrollment verification working with the National Student Clearinghouse, as well as FERPA compliance. The Registrar’s office also keeps abreast of local, state and federal regulations and their impact on SUNY Orange.
Reporting to the Academic Vice President for Enrollment Management and working closely with other offices of the Student Services division and the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Registrar and the staff are involved in many aspects of student and faculty engagement with the College.
We are looking forward to a number of new projects and initiatives. The Academic Master Plan 2023-2024 is the road map we are using to plan how the Registrar’s Office can have a positive effect. The areas we believe we can have an impact on are:
Scheduling:
* Minimize scheduling obstacles to degree completion and make student and faculty and staff feedback a consistent part of scheduling decision-making.
The Student Experience:
*We are moving ahead with our focus being on improved communication among faculty, staff and students.
*Enhance academic support and services by effectively utilizing equipment, facilities, personnel, and technology to meet our students’ needs.
Together with the entire SUNY Orange community I believe we can achieve our goals.
