The department is dedicated to expanding educational access and strengthening career pathways by building seamless connections between non-credit and credit programs. Through the Youth Empowerment and Adult High School Equivalency (HSE) programs, students can earn their High School Equivalency credential while engaging in SUNY Orange’s supportive learning community. Upon completion, graduates are encouraged and guided to continue into SUNY Orange’s credit-bearing courses and SUNY Orange Plus credential programs, advancing both their academic and workforce readiness. The opening of the PearsonVue GED Test Center on the Newburgh campus enhances these opportunities by providing students with convenient on-site testing. To ensure continued operation and quality service, the Test Center requires an annual supply budget to maintain necessary materials and resources.
