A+ and Network+ Certification Equipment / Virtual Lab

Initiative TitleA+ and Network+ Certification Equipment / Virtual Lab
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

As workforce development programming grows, certain courses will need equipment to provide a hands-on learning component. This includes providing PC Computer Repair Technician and Networking certification training leading to entry-level IT positions. These courses are in need of an equipment upgrade since the previous equipment was purchased over 6 years ago.

Offering CompTIA A+ and Network+ workforce development training classes will provide another opportunity to community members to receive college credit through the existing articulation agreement between CAPE and Computer Science and Technology Department.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

Absence of new equipment will prevent the College from offering A+ and Network+ certification classes.

Not able to fully realize the existing articulation agreement between CAPE and Computer Science and Technology Department.

No hand-on learning opportunities
