Please indicate the reason for the vacancy. Resignation Retirement Other: never existed Justification for Action Requested Briefly describe why the position is needed. Provide routine and emergency nursing care, health counseling, monitor health records, electronic immunization record keeping, assist in implementing health education programs with strong emphasis on wellness. Wellness Center Hours are 8:30- 4:30 and the position is year round. This positions works 2 days per week. Nursing services are provided to students, faculty, and staff. Have you considered consolidating duties into an existing position, changing to part-time, or redistributing to other positions? If yes, please indicate why these solutions are not appropriate. This hire would replace a nurse that has just resigned in fall 2018. It is already a part-time position. This position along with the currently employed nurses covers the operating hours of the Wellness Center.
Describe the inadequacies of current staffing to support the immediate and future needs in your department/office: Leaving this position vacant would increase the frequency of the days in which the Wellness Center would have no nurse providing any medical care to the campus community.
Describe any technological enhancements/solutions you have considered: Duties cannot be accomplished by technology

Briefly describe additional evidence to support this position request. This hire would allow the Wellness Center to more consistently provide medical care to the campus community and process clinical clearances for all the health professions students.
