Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale | The Nursing department continues to see a significant increase in first-time skill failures, as well as 3rd time failures and attrition from the program, particularly among Nursing 1 students. |
Consequences of this initiative not being funded | Increased attrition means that we will have a lower on-time completion rate for the program, and ultimately fewer graduates. With the current nursing shortage, it is imperative that we produce the highest number possible of registered nurses who are ready to begin practice at the bedside. |
