Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Effective professional development enables staff to develop the knowledge and skills they need to address students’ learning challenges. To be effective, professional development requires thoughtful planning followed by careful implementation with feedback to ensure it responds to educators’ learning needs.  Student Success Centers nationally have begun to expand their offerings to address not only student needs, but also faculty and staff.  By developing effective staff development for tutors will 1) create the opportunity to partner with the CTL; and 2) lay the groundwork for expanding and enriching professional development available to not only students, but also faculty and staff.
