Currently, students who earned their HSE/GED are contacted by the Assistant Chair, who meets with them to determine correct placement.  This process is cumbersome and inconvenient for students.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

We will lose students who were interested in attending, but do not follow up with the Assistant Chair when contacted by her.

Goal How will the initiative support this institutional goal?
The right placement test is crucial for correct placement. Our students who have completed their HSE/GED are the students least likely to be helped by the multiple measures currently in place. There are placement tests available that would even allow students to review material and retest, if they are so inclined.
If we choose a placement test that allows students to review the material and retest, the review materials are customized to the student and therefore provide individualized resources and guidance to ensure student readiness to succeed at the College.
