Planning for the Dental Hygiene program for the next academic year was based on continuing to provide the students and faculty with the best possible environment for the teaching learning / process as the students progress through the learning continuum from novice to competent. Due to the Pandemic our plan is to utilize the resources that are available to maintain the integrity of the Instructional Continuity Plan to provide the students and faculty with as much support for online/remote teaching as possible. Planning for student access to a variety of simulated clinical experiences in small groups will require access to more digital examples and models. The planning process will also address the Commission on Dental Accreditation(CODA) standards for Dental Hygiene programs, state regulations, current trends of the workforce and the institutional plans and goals.

Department Goals

Specific things the department wishes to achieve or accomplish this academic year.

# Department Goal
1 To purchase another portable nitrous oxide/oxygen unit to supplement the 15 year old units that we have and to accommodate larger class size.
2 To purchase Xray model and stand and pediatric model for student practice with the digital panoramic xray machine
3 Acquire a designated classroom for our clinical instruction to socially distance and use a variety of media.
