The department wants to expand to accept more students each fall. This is not possible in our current situation with small x-ray rooms limited physical space. The program shares one classroom where both labs are located for 3 lab sessions (which equals 9 labs total a week). This also leaves very little time for student to practice with the rooms constantly being occupied. Practicing hands on skills and muscle memory is extremely important to student success. 

Relocating the program is a huge cost which to the best of my knowledge is above and beyond what could be approved through PIP. The foundation and grant department is working hard in conjunction with the DI department to find funding for a move OR perhaps when the biotech building is remodeled or renovated that plan could include expansion.
