This year, the Education Department plans to focus heavily on serving and supporting our current students, so that they are positioned to be successful as they complete their coursework.  Specifically, we'd like to target students who are taking gateway courses, and determine ways to support them (both via advising and in actual courses) to assist them in navigating these initial courses at the college.  We also plan to examine and evaluate our processes associated with field placement. so that current and future students can continue to benefit from authentic, engaging classroom experiences at field sites that are both convenient to them and model best practices.  This year, we also plan to examine the Education Department's course descriptions in the catalog, to ensure that all language and content is current and reflective of our student learning outcomes.  Finally, we hope to work closely with Lab School administration, to more clearly define the relationship between the Lab School and the Education Department.
