The HAB again considered the goals and initiatives on which we wanted to focus and felt that what we had submitted last year remains consistent--with one addition.

Appropriate, dedicated space remains a top priority; while we have some make-do space in RSCE, it is not a permanent home and does not meet all of our needs. The biology department also needs its classroom space returned. 

Our new line request is to provide stipends to peer mentors to recognize the work they do to welcome and help retain new students.

Scholarships, an assistant coordinator, conference funding remain important to our plans.

1 Acquire/secure appropriate space and facilities as part of the infrastructure and personnel plan based on program assessments
2 Provide annual funding for students & faculty to participate in conferences and other experiential learning and community-building opportunities
3 Provide funding for peer mentors
4 Provide funding for capstone option to do two-semester service project ($5000)
5 Improve recruitment of quality and committed traditional, non-traditional, and under-represented student populations by offering more program-specific scholarships
