Shrink Box

Those involved with the Interdisciplinary Studies remain committed to and continue to see it as a department with tremendous potential.  Education studies globally discuss the need for and increasing use of team teaching and cross disciplinary connections and courses to develop the creative, critical thinking and problem solving skills needed for success today.  Additionally, by its very nature, it builds connections between people and areas (both on and off campus) and encourages diversity and inclusion.  We hope to see these potentials more fully explored and expanded to recruit and retain students, faculty, and funding sources.  We have ideas that could provide excellent opportunities for the College, students and faculty and look forward to completing them.  Yet, we have had little encouragement to do so.  Additionally, with shrinking enrollment, we understand that offering team-taught classes seems an ill-afforded luxury.  Still, we remain committed to serving students and expanding offerings. and again ask for guidance on future direction.
