The Clinical Laboratory Science Department continues to offer a quality accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program which is also license qualifying in NYS. The Clinical Laboratory Science Department also offers one of the few NAACLS approved Phlebotomy courses in NYS.  Laboratory analyzers and equipment are an essential part of both programs and must be replaced due to being outdated and no longer functional. Students use these analyzers to enhance their skills and achieve competency before and during clinical rotations.

To comply with licensure and accreditation requirements, equipment must be up to date so that students can learn the latest skills.

The MLT and Phlebotomy programs are also due for accreditation this year, 2025-2026.  Lab equipment is an integral part of the program and necessary for student success. All equipment in the CLS department used for the MLT and Phlebotomy programs will be listed and reported in the self-study for accreditation.

The following goals have been established to achieve these plans.
