During the 2019-2020 academic year, the education department plans to continue improving and refining our processes associated with pre-service teacher preparation.  There are four primary areas that we hope to focus on this year.  They include, increasing the visibility of our programs to sustain and increase enrollment; re-evaluating and strengthening our JRTEP programs; refining our collaborative relationship with the Lab School; and engaging in "Guided Pathways" work that will help to clarify academic pathways for education students and more clearly delineate their journey to degree completion.  Overall, we believe that maintaining focus on these four essential areas will serve to both increase the visibility of our programs (opening up the doors to potential students), as well as to improve the experiences of our current students through supportive and high quality educational experiences.
