As the College continues to work on a Guided Pathways model, the English Department will work on assessing the co-requisite ENG 101/098, now in its third year. Because of Covid, our ENG 101 assessment was conducted late. We still have to digest the information from that assessment. Also delayed was the Department work on a potential new course to accelerate progression through the lower levels of developmental course work, Integrated Reading and Writing 1, a 4-credit course.  This will involve increased technological support, continued communication/collaboration with other departments, and increased staffing. We are back on campus half-time at the moment, so the Department would also like to explore funding opportunities to update the English-designated classrooms in Harriman Hall and for various Department activities (speakers and technology to produce a podcast). Additionally, now that we have lost the space of the Tech Writing Lab, we would like to explore how to keep that resource going forward. We would also like a few more computer carts.
