Per recommendation by the AVP, we are focusing on what we need to function well here and in Newburgh at current capacity or a bit more.  This means continuing our efforts to do a full program assessment.  Recommendations come from pieces already completed.  Additionally, per AVP recommendation and our own assessment, we wish to continue to improve experiential learning opportunities for students.  Both of these should improve student retention and increase our ability to recruit.

Department Goals

Specific things the department wishes to achieve or accomplish this academic year.

1 Conduct a programmatic assessment to determine the "right size" for the program
2 Implement an infrastructure and personnel plan based on the program assessment
3 Increase opportunities for experiential learning (conferences, speakers, etc.)
4 Improve student retention within courses, from semester to semester, and from year to year.
5 Work on articulation agreements to meet NCHC's "Basic Characteristics"
