Despite uncertainty as to the future, we feel it is best to stay the course regarding our goals and initiatives, understanding that the situation is fluid.  In the best of all possible worlds (assuming availability of necessary resources) we intend to work to achieve those goals.

The size of the program had to be reduced in order to continue to manage the population. Without the proper infrastructure to support our current students, said reduction was necessary to continue to serve them to the level of quality they deserve.

Department Goals

Specific things the department wishes to achieve or accomplish this academic year.

1 Improve recruitment of quality and committed traditional, non-traditional, and under-represented student populations
2 Enhance the student advising and support experiences
3 Improve student retention within courses, semester to semester and year to year
4 Implement an infrastructure and personnel plan based on program assessments
5 Expand experiential learning and cohort building opportunities (conferences, speakers, etc.)
6 Develop articulation agreements to enhance transfer opportunities & meet an NCHC “Basic Characteristic” (Side note: this & scholarships would improve recruiting & retention)
