Human Resources is an integral department that serves all SUNY Orange departments. To be a more productive and efficient department the department will strive to enhance the services we provide to the college. To do this we must become as efficient as possible with our time, our resources and the information that we collect, retain and disseminate. For the ensuing year we are pursuing the ability to digitize all of our employee records, new and current. We also are going to initiate the ability that all HR forms are electronic, have electronic signature and be placed in a tracking software. Completing this coupled with our new on boarding program will greatly increase the efficiency of the Human Resources Department, allowing us to be more responsive to the needs of the college. This is in line with SUNY Orange priority IV in the College's Strategic Plan 2015-2020.
In striving to meet the goals as set forth in the SUNY Diversity Plan, Human Resources will work with the other areas of the college to address cultural competency for all of our employees. This will be achieved not only through thoughtful conversations on how to best achieve Goal 2 and 5 of the Diversity Plan, but also bring in experts in this area to bring awareness on this topic to the campus. Through these efforts we as an institution will be better prepared to be mindful and respectful of our diverse student, employee and community population.
Part of the Diversity Plan is also to increase our diversity applicant pool. Human Resources in conjunction with our marketing department will establish a branding strategy that will help to establish that SUNY Orange is reflective of our campus students, employee and our community that we serve. We will also be reviewing and revamping our search process as appropriate to help draw more applicants that reflect the college student and community demographics.
Payroll will meet the college's strategic plan to "Develop, cultivate, and support innovation throughout the organization for continuous improvement" by implementing a completely on line time and attendance process for all of our hourly employees. This will not only increase the efficiency within the payroll department but will also greatly decrease the amount of time the employees and supervisors spend getting paper time sheets, completed signed and sent to the payroll department.
