Our Admissions Team priority focus is to market, recruit and enroll students into SUNY Orange.

During the 2020-2021  academic year, our Admissions team continued to worked closely with constituents inside and outside of the college including Academic Affairs, Student Services and local guidance counselor community to help promote the benefits of a SUNY Orange education to the outside community. Our target audience were high school seniors, transfers, visiting students, adult students & students looking to readmit back to the college. This past year offered some challenges due to the on going pandemic as many if not all of our events had to remain virtual. Although being virtual is not ideal, these events were successful and surprising saw some very engaged students. 

In addition, we saw great progress with the implementation of our CRM program as we currently are importing data from banner and using the event management system to track visitors and enhance the experience our students go through in the event registration process. 

For Fall 2022, we are excited to announce that many of our high school visitations and onsite decision programs have been in-person, which has seen a great amount of engagement from students. Our admissions team is cautiously optimistic with our fall 2022 numbers.

2022-2023 Admissions Plan

For the upcoming 2022-2023  Academic Year, we are going to continue on focusing on initiatives that will help us engage with our prospects and applicants throughout the admissions process. Some continued initiatives include continued implementation of our CRM tools to enhance student engagement, creation of instructional videos in English and Spanish, implementation of a division-wide CHATBOT and the utilization of Niche. The purchase of Niche solutions  would allow us to reach different markets in a more unique way.  Additionally, we will be looking to enhance our outreach and community to our local community and business organizations to help promote our offerings at SUNY Orange.  Our department will complete our goals and initiatives with the following strategic priorities and themes in mind:


Strategic Priority I – Empower Student Success - Equitably link students with their aspirations           
Theme # 1: Provide support for the student of today and tomorrow.
Theme # 2: Intentionally and specifically support interested students to transition from non-credit to credit.
Theme # 4: Access Information about Career Choices & Potential Pathways

These priorities will continue to be a major influence as to how we will assist the institution in in meeting our enrollment numbers. Below is a list of initiatives we would to achieve this year:

  • Build marketing communications and drip campaigns through CRM (Utilize communication plan)
  • Re-institute Group Visitation Program 
  • Rebuild our Student Admission Program
  • Host Spring Guidance Counselor Luncheon Program
  • Implement Chatbot Feature through OCELOT
  • Create admissions instructional videos in English & Spanish
  • Enhance our outreach to local community and business organizations to promote enrollment

We will also continue to build upon the following items in our admissions department:

  • Look at our student communication and offering it in both English & Spanish.
  • Continue to utilize our Career Advisor into our Admission related events and programming to more align with guided pathways and the communities.
