The mission of the SUNY Orange facilities department is to ensure that the College's buildings and grounds are  maintained, cleaned, and in proper condition for the safe and efficient operation of the Middletown and Newburgh Campuses both now and in the future. Department planning is guided by a Facilities Master Plan which dovetails with the College's overall Strategic Plan and the facilities related components of the Middles States Commission on Higher Education, the College's accrediting body.

Due to a current vacancy in the Director of Facilities position, only a few goals and initiatives are specified at this time for the Facilities department. The PIP system will be updated with more detailed information when the new Director comes on board in the May/June timeframe.

1 Continue to request and implement capital projects in conjunction with Orange County & SUNY
2 Purchase custodial equipment to improve cleaning procedures in the time of COVID-19
3 Improve efficiency of HVAC systems through equipment replacement & improved testing procedures
4 Update the department's vehicle fleet.
5 Evaluate software options to improve the copy center's capabilities
