As the College is looking ahead to meeting the needs of our current students and those of the future, the English Department realizes the importance of increasing our outreach via new technology and online opportunities to meet the challenges presented by a quickly changing educational and professional milieu.  In addition, it is increasingly apparent that our student body is and will become more diverse in ethnicity, age, and economic status.  We will need to plan for this by accelerating the progress of our non-native speakers, under-prepared, and non-traditional students toward their stated goals. This will necessitate innovative delivery of courses,  faculty training and support and collaboration with other disciplines in the college.
